Sony’s latest State of Play focused on The Last of Us Part II and showed off eight unseen minutes of gameplay.
Sony’s showcase platform State of Play delivered a very dark and brutal look at the world of The Last of Us Part II. Naughty Dog’s vice president and the game’s director, Neil Druckmann, talks us through some of the things we can expect from the title when it is released. And to cap it all off we were treated to eight minutes of unseen gameplay following Drukmann’s walkthrough.
The Last of Us Part II‘s stunning visuals will have a few different places to explore and has focused on giving the player more of an open-world setting.
The game’s prequel, The Last of Us, was a huge success and remains in the top 3 of best selling PlayStation 3 games of all time. It was also named the game of the decade by PlayStation. While the first game was focused more on the relationship between Joel and Ellie on their journey, TLOU 2 is centered around Ellie on a journey of her own.
The game’s trailer, which is shown at the beginning of the State of Play video, paints a very grim outline of what’s to come. Rest assured we can expect some very nasty violence and a fascinating story from one of Sony’s flagship game developers, Naughty Dog.
The Last of Us Part II will launch exclusively on PS4 on June 19.
