The next State of Play is going to focus on Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II.
Big news from the Sony camp. They’ve announced earlier this week in regards to its State of Play program. The long-awaited The Last of Us Part II will be the sole concentration of the next edition.
Neil Druckmann, the vice president at Naughty Dog and director of The Last of Us Part II, will take us through some never before seen gameplay footage and explain the story experienced in the upcoming survival horror title.
Sid Shuman, senior director of SIE’s (Sony Interactive Entertainment) content communications informed us on the PlayStation Blog, that they are putting the finishing touches on the soon to be aired show.
In Shuman’s post, he writes:
“The current cut is clocking in a little more than 20 minutes, ending with an extended sequence showing off about eight minutes of never-before-seen gameplay.”
Unfortunately for those hoping to hear news about the PS5, Shuman has stated that this edition of State of Play is based only on The Last of Us Part II.
Fans of the game are divided about whether they want to tune in or not after major spoilers of the game were released by suspected hackers back in April. Some are worried about going anywhere near the stream in case Naughty Dog decide to show too much, others just want the experience to be as new as possible.
Tune in to YouTube or Twitch on Wednesday, May 27th at 1 PM PST, 4 PM EST, and 9 PM UK time to see the latest episode. For all those choosing to avoid watching the stream, you won’t have to wait long. TLOU2 is out on PS4, June 19th.
