The Future of Gaming event isn’t happening later this week.
In a statement via Twitter, the PS5-centered, The Future of Gaming, event Sony announced last week has been indefinitely postponed.
“We have decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4. While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”

Announced just last week, Sony appears to have made the decision to postpone the event in response to ongoing protests in several major cities against police brutality and racial injustice in the United States. This announcement came approximately three hours after Sony, via the Playstation Twitter account, posted a more explicit statement regarding their stance on the aforementioned issues.
