Chapter 2 Season 3 of Fortnite is looking increasingly more like it will be flooded.

The Fortnite community has heard increasing rumors about the map possibly flooding with water over the past few weeks. These rumors seem to be perpetrated by well-known Fortnite leakers, HYPEX and FortTory.

Back on May 26, FortTory tweeted out a video of supposed game files showing new underwater swimming animations. This gave way to players believing that water would play a larger role in the next season.

Shortly afterwards on June 1, HYPEX tweeted two pictures showing that the PlayStation store had changed the game’s icon. The new Chapter 2 Season 3 icon showed the battle bus emerging from a large body of water with only a small island in the distance. This sent the community into a frenzy about the potential flooding of the map.

The in-game live event, The Device, is scheduled for June 15. The Device is expected to be directly related to the increase in the water around the map. This event will most likely end the current season and set up Chapter 2 Season 3. The apparent doomsday device that will be used was also leaked by HYPEX.
