Dr Disrespect has been banned from Twitch.
Herschel Beahm IV, known online as Dr Disrespect, has been banned from Twitch. At this time Twitch has not given a reason for the ban nor have they commented on the length, though, it is being reported that the ban is permanent. ESports consultant, Rod Breslau, claimed on Twitter that Beahm has been permanently banned from Twitch and that the ban is not related to a DMCA issue.
Beahm, whilst assuming the persona of Dr Disrespect, has gotten into trouble with Twitch before. Most recently, at E3 2019 he was reprimanded for filming in a public bathroom, leading to him firing his director. Additionally, the Dr Disrespect persona has been defined by overplayed toxicity and anger for comedic effect, which has also drawn criticism in the past.
Other streamers have commented on the ban, with Timothy Betar (TimTheTatMan) saying that he has contacted Beahm who is just as confused by the ban as the public, telling Betar that he is speaking with Twitch to figure out what has happened.

High-profile Twitch bans often attract attention from audiences, some of whom believe rules are not enforced equally on all streamers, and this sentiment has already emerged relating to Beahm’s ban. Twitch denies any wrongdoing, in their statement regarding Beahm’s ban.
“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
Beahm had a significant presence on Twitch, so this will certainly be of interest to audiences and other streamers. At this time, details are thin and a lot of speculation is taking place within the Twitch community. We will keep you updated as reliable news on the ban comes in.
