Fans are hoping for a Demon’s Souls remaster announcement during the upcoming PS5 – The Future of Gaming event.
Last year, president Marco Thrush of Bluepoint Games confirmed in an interview that the studio was “working on a big one right now,” and we may finally find out more. Could it be a Demon’s Souls remaster?
On Twitter, Bluepoint CTO and Technical Director Peter Dalton retweeted the Playstation Future of Gaming event announcement and added “I’m so excited for the future. It is time to push forward and leave our old gaming limitations behind us.”

Bluepoint has built a strong reputation over the years for its incredible remasters. The studio, established in 2006, was founded by members of the Metroid Prime engineering team and worked on Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection, the PS4 Shadow of the Colossus port, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
If that wasn’t an already impressive resume, the company says they want more, with their website declaring: “Our latest project is the largest in our history, and aims to define the visual benchmark for the next generation of gaming hardware.”
Rumors have circulated for a few years that the company has been developing a Demon’s Souls update. These rumors have been rekindled in light of Bluepoint Games confirming they have a big game planned for the console.
Many hope title in question is a long-awaited Demon’s Souls remaster, bringing the first game in the genre-defining Souls game series to modern hardware. Published over a decade ago, Demon’s Souls redefined the action RPG genre with its brutal difficulty, gothic world-building, and countless surprises – but that was almost two console generations ago, and fans have clamored for an update ever since.
