What’s coming to Borderlands 3 with Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption? Here’s what we know.

There is new content coming to Borderlands 3 next month and vault hunters everywhere are preparing to shoot and loot their way through it all. On the latest episode of The Borderlands Show, hosts Greg and Fran were joined by Gearbox Software creative director, Matt Cox, to reveal the latest campaign for Borderlands 3, Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption. The hosts also talked about the newest Takedown being added to the game. Here’s what we know so far.

Takedown at the Guardian Breach is coming on June 4 as a free addition to the base game. Similar to the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite, this endgame gauntlet scales to the number of players in your group but has been made to be challenging for groups of four. For this Takedown, the socially awkward scientist, Tannis, sends you on a mission to the planet of Minos Prime to track the source of a mysterious guardian signal.

Along with waves of new enemies, puzzles, and low gravity platforms to test your skills and gear, there is a mini-boss and final boss encounter, much like the previous Takedown. Should you and your fellow vault hunters survive, you’ll be rewarded with new drops, including themed gear, weapons, and collectible cosmetics.

Next, the group discussed the new western-themed campaign, Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption (coming on June 25) with Gearbox’s Matt Cox as the creative director. Just as Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot and Guns, Love and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock took us to all new settings, so too does the upcoming Bounty of Blood. But, unlike these previous addons, we’re being introduced to an all-new cast of characters in a story told by an unseen narrator.

Bounty of Blood

Bounty of Blood is set on the desert planet of Gehenna, where you’ll be up against The Devil Riders. These bandits, mounted atop formidable beasts, threaten the small town of Vestige and you’ll have to team up with the locals to wipe them out and uphold justice. The actions you take will have a direct impact on the town of Vestige and you can help rebuild it through story missions and crew challenges.

The customizable Jetbeast hoverbike is also new to the game, giving you a unique way to explore Gehenna. Cox explains that “every western needs its horse” but “for the Vault Hunter, it’s the Jetbeast, which is half jetbike, and half creature.” Naturally.

Scattered across the planet there will also be an array of interactable items to help you explore the desert lands, some of these include plants that give you unique buffs like turning enemies into allies or allowing you to jump to great heights. If that wasn’t enough there will also be a plethora of western-themed loot up for grabs. Bounty of Blood is coming on June 25.
