The upcoming Destiny 2 DLC, Beyond Light, has been delayed.
Bungie has just released a statement delaying the release of the newest Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light. Previously set to be released on September 22, the highly anticipated expansion is now set to come out in November.
In their post, Bungie cited the ongoing pandemic as the main challenge as they continue to work on the newest expansion release to Destiny 2. Bungie also repeatedly affirmed their commitment to the game’s quality.
“As always, our goal is to make the coolest, most entertaining expansion we can possibly make for our fans. To that end, we are doing what’s best for the game and moving the launch date.”
Bungie described Beyond Light as “the first chapter in a new trilogy of expansions” as well as “the beginning of a new era of Destiny 2.” In moving the release back, they have also extended the current Season of Arrivals until November 10.
Bungie did state that over the next few weeks they will be showing what they have been working on with Beyond Light and the now extended Season of Arrivals.
Since Bungie took over the Destiny series in 2018 from Activision, they have been focused on having more updates and post-release content in between expansions releases. It seems they are not too worried about pushing back the upcoming Beyond Light expansion as they are excited about the future they have created for Destiny 2.
