A brand-new Halo game could be in the works from 343 Industries.
A recently listed job posting by 343 Industries on the Microsoft Careers page seeks a senior producer to help “develop a new project in the Halo universe.” Posted June 3, the job listing appears unrelated to the upcoming Halo Infinite as the upcoming entry in the Halo series is already set for a release sometime this holiday season.
343 Industries, based in Redmond, Washington, is the studio is responsible for the Halo series once originally produced by developer Bungie. As the job posting doesn’t mention the exact nature of the project, it does specifically mention a “new” project. For now, it’s difficult to discern if the project could be related to the upcoming Halo Infinite, a new game set in the Halo universe, or an off-shoot product.
Currently, Halo Infinite is set to release on the Xbox One, but details about the game remain thin. A blog post by 343 Industries confirmed that players will be back in Master Chief’s boots.
The team also heard feedback loud and clear on the amount of time spent playing as the Master Chief in Halo 5. In Halo Infinite, the game will focus on the Master Chief and continue his saga after the events of Halo 5.
Beyond that, there is very little information about Halo Infinite’s story or mechanics and this upcoming unnamed project is equally mysterious. Whether 343 Industries is hiring for a role in developing a main series game or an adjacent project is yet to be seen, but Halo fans have something new to look forward to in the beloved game series either way.
